  1. Single player is where it’s at! I don’t get into MP because I don’t like my entertainment to be contingent on how other people choose to play. I’m not saying MP doesn’t have it’s place.
I enjoy competition at times. I grew up playing MK, Tekken, wrestling, and basketball games with friends. However, I much prefer the reliability, control, and story SP games offer.

    1. Same here I used to play those and other challenging game (Home Alone on Sega Megadrive) and if I couldn’t complete the level or stage (Street Fighter Champions Edition) I would pass the controller to a friend who could do it for me and we could get to the final stage like that and beat the game. Grew up as 90’s Kid playing in the Arcade cabinets down at grocery stores and shopping malls.

    2. Shooter like battlefield or cod is the only i would play. Because many players in the server. So the chance of that one type of guy hold grudge on you over video game are less. I hate those people. For example r6 siege 5v5 . You made a mistake and always that one guy would send you low iq chat , and saying nasty stuff. Teammate or enemy team just the same.

    3. @Divergent Droid I haven’t played FC5. But, I’d imagine that you could play together by having her on your list of friends/groups. If I was you I’d research the matter because it seems like you should be able to choose who you want to co-op. It might not be lan directly (have to deal with netcode) but it should still be enjoyable enough.

    4. I’m a single player guy.. i don’t do MP but I’ll play Virtual Pool 4 with my wife by sharing the keyboard taking turns.. I wish Every game like say Far Cry 5 would let you play over home lan with your wife. (perhaps it odes but we too simple for that)

  2. This list is really worth saving for inspiration later! Great replayability lol
I’ve been playing Eastward and it’s incredible!
Highly recommend to those of you who are into pixel art games with an engaging mystery.
Satisfying gameplay and memorable music as well.

  3. The Alan Wake remaster that just came out within the last month has been extremely enjoyable for those that love a good story/survival horror experience. Combat is fluid and simple, slightly basic but still has a rewarding feel.

    1. I love the setting and story but just can’t seem to get into the combat. It’s simple but just doesn’t feel right to me.

    2. I love that it’s getting attention again. Anyone I bring Alan Wake up to is either the “Oh yea I kinda remember that game” OR “What’s that?”. Love it. And American Nightmare

    1. Guardians of the Galaxy, Far Cry 6, Skyrim AE, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Kena Bridge of Spirits. Bought all of them last week. I still want to try out Sack Boy and Devil May Cry 5.

  4. Thanks for mentioning Scarlet Nexus.
I just completed it and it was a blast. It will start appearing in most underrated games of 2021 lists soon.
Just an awesome anime action game.

  5. Idk if the Outer Wilds DLC counts, it wasn’t what I expected but it was still a great addition that builds on the game’s horror aspects

    1. @Malin the outer worlds may be a good game but its nothing compared to the outer wilds. The outer wilds really deserves to be played without knowing anything about it and its one of my favorite games of all time.

    2. @TimLikesWaffles i bought both of them at the same time. Started playing wilds, died on a weird planet and traveled back in time to the beginning. Im Def gonna play it, just need the time to really get into it 😁👍

  6. Lost Judgment was incredible. Great story, characters, combat and soundtrack. It also has tons of compelling side activities that will keep you busy for a while. Another hit from RGG studios.

    1. I agreed with Jim H. The combat in Yakuza 1 to 6 were very awesome, but too bad they changed to rpg after. So its a bless they kept it mostly in judgement series (However, the weirdest heat movez they already removed it)

  7. The 1s I enjoyed from this list
    1:54 Hitman 3
    3:30 Returnal
    6:57 Scarlet Nexus
    8:26 Kena: Bridge Of Spirits
    15:48 Guardians Of The Galaxy
    17:57 Director’s Ghost Of Tsushima
    18:25 Subnautica Below Zero
Ender Lilies: Quietus Of The Knights
    💻🎮👍😉

    1. @TarTimOoAl Treat others how you want to be treated. If you don’t have something nice to say do not say anything at all.

  8. While Dark Pictures can be played single player, I think the experience is really MEANT to be played co-op, as it just adds a whole new dynamic where your choices can affect the other player. There are times where you both see things from different perspectives, or you are watching completely different cut scenes at the same time.

    1. Yeah the devs pretty strongly encourage either remote play or at times have allowed players to gift co-op sessions to friends.

    2. Played it with my friend now gonna play it solo then replay with my friend being the opposite characters we chose in the beginning

  9. I’m really happy to see you guys giving some love to Scarlet Nexus. I enjoyed it a LOT and the combat is so much fun. Hoping for a sequel

    1. I’m going through it now. Not really a JRPG fan, but, I adore this game. I would happily pay for a sequel. It’s really well done, to me.

  10. Love mixing up single player games in between mmos. Scarlet Nexus is really fun… but lots of story indeed, sometimes mediocre storyline. But battle system is nice!

  11. Finally, a list for me. I absolutely love playing solo. Multiplayer games are nice and all, but man, a good narrative and some time to myself? Super precious.

  12. 8:26 So pleased that Kena Bridges Of Spirits received an award for best indie game of 2021 well deserved! such a refreshing game in almost two whole decades! most games fall short of keeping my attention to actually finish them or complete 100% you have to play it to believe it, short, simple, fun, refreshing, and the soundtracks are a great fit! and difficult, can’t wait for the sequel

  13. Its wonderful to see Pyschonauts 2 on here. It deserves all the praise it gets & I hope it wins a Game Of The Year Award
