  1. Putting times and platforms in the description is clutch. These guys are good at that, and it’s just one of the ways Gameranx has jumped ahead of IGN.

    1. @Heavy Metal Gaming I definitely have no idea it was a band. You’re aware that normal and common to you isn’t the same for everyone else right? For example I grew up on the west coast

  2. There is something about this genre of games that just keeps people hooked. The feeling that you are the writer of your own story, being able to explore gives a sense of accomplishment. There’s not a single game on this list that I wouldn’t play. So stoked for the releases 🙌

    1. @George Johnson fallout three was a great game!!

Is a great game! I had similar feelings when I first played that game back in 2008!!

    2. Exactly it. I remember the “fear” I had when I first played Fallout3 back in 2009, I was terrified for about the first 2-3 hours of the game but slowly got into it. I’m always looking for games that will give me that FO3 “fear” again, no idea what to expect but excited to see what I will find, the joy of turning a corner and just discovering something unusual.

    3. Yes! I was actually just saying recently that my only complaint about A Plague Tale was that it was too linear for me to really go around looking at the beautiful architecture they worked so hard to get right. My friend was still making fun of me for months after I played it at his house because I kept getting killed. I was too busy gawking at stone foundations and wattle-walled overhanging upper floors of town houses to realize I was supposed to be running. Or staring up at ceilings while I should have been watching for rats. It’s just such a beautiful, authentic world that it felt wrong being bound to a path. I didn’t even know there was going to be a sequel until I watched this video, so now I’m pretty excited about it.

    4. agreed. The older i get, i really just want games where i can explore a massive open world that ive never been to. Thats all. Thats the best feeling.

  3. So excited to see Stray, just looks so different and interesting. It might be a tad more linear than others on the list but with no people in the game, seems like a really new idea and should be good fun.

  4. ‘9 was a terrible film, nothing can be done about that.’ That had me rolling. You guys, no doubt, make stellar content, but it’s truly your rich personalities and amazing commentary that keep me coming back. You guys are my favorite gaming channel, hands down.

    1. The Mojave Wasteland is a place of excitement and danger. You should go there sometime. When you do you should post a review on it

  5. The Day Before looks interesting. That’s pretty much my favorite kind of games, dark theme with survival elements. I really hope that we’ll also see Alan Wake 2 becoming a reality sometime soon.

    1. @Martijn Maas yeah even the gun reticle is identical to the TLOU games and the crafting menu looks nearly identical to TLOU2

    2. The Mojave Wasteland is a place of excitement and danger. You should go there sometime. When you do you should post a review on it

  6. There is something about this genre of games that just keeps people hooked. The feeling that you are the writer of your own story, being able to explore gives a sense of accomplishment. There’s not a single game on this list that I wouldn’t play. So stoked for the releases

  7. Forspoken, Requiem, Hogwarts and Starfield (and maybe Gotham Knights) are the ones I am really looking forward to. I am also on the fence regarding Avatar, will have to wait till it’s released to decide. Ubisoft’s recent track record does not inspire much confidence.

  8. I’ve been following Stray for a while. It looks sooooo cool. I just love the concept and the fact you play as a cat. Can’t wait for it to come out. Just wish I knew when it was coming out. Devs have been rather silent on the release date.

    1. @CatDad92 Thank you my brother. Thank you for the kind words. That was some comfort atleast. I hope you too are doing good. Hope you find peace too.

    2. The Mojave Wasteland is a place of excitement and danger. You should go there sometime. When you do you should post a review on it

    3. @CatDad92 It is an Indy studio indeed. I think it is more to blame on Sony who needed a lot of Next Gen titles to fill up their presentation to push PS5 pre orders that it was announced too early.

Still, this one is on my gotta get it someday list, if only to see how our own orange furball is responding to it 😉

    4. @Martijn Maas Good point. However, from my understanding they’re a small studio. Probably don’t have the same resources as the bigger developers/publishers. I just like to think they are working towards making the game perfect.

    5. I’m loosing hype a bit since it was announced as “comming soon for PS5” as it was supposed to be a launch title or at least year 1. That was almost 2 years ago.

(In all fairness they presented a lot of projects then that are still TBA. Wish they stopped doing that.)

    1. @Serp D. can you enlighten us with some of your examples of Bethesda straight up lying? Todd exaggerates a lot, but he never really lied did he now.

    2. @Evil Cat there are enough examples how Bethesda has lied. Or let’s say Todd did and mostly anything he had his hands on lost gameplay mechanics they had before.

    3. well they said the n number of times that it’ll be massively based on exploration and with that comes freedom and its gonna be atleast 3 or 4 open worlds in it

  9. Sengoku dynasty looks great. I love city building games that you can create alliances, have wars, etc. Age of Empires, Civilization, etc. Seems like a cool deviation of it though. Hope to see it come to Xbox though. Can’t wait for Hogwarts legacy, wish it was an MMO though as it would have been so cool to play with others from different houses, good/evil, etc. So much they could do with it. I can’t wait for Hellblade 2. Hope it’s out this year.

  10. I have such high hopes for Starfield, hope it lives up to the hype. We gotta be getting gameplay soon (hopefully sooner since E3 was cancelled)

  11. We need a new exploration AC game that’s similar to Black Flag. The newer AC games were good but for me I feel that Black Flag has an atmosphere that made the experience way more special and memorable.

    1. For me, Odyssey was the BEST game I’ve played to date. I simply got lost during 3 day weekends, playing limitless adventures. The marine combat was utterly next level fun!

    2. Nothing will beat Black Flag! Considering that was the game that got Me into AC games to begin with, After AC unity it went down hill From there. But what I don’t understand is! What this has to do with what they were talking about in the video. Considering they didn’t Mention AC in here at all! 🤨

  12. Really excited about forespoken, love games with interesting traversal abilities and it looks like it will at least feel new and be a ton of fun to mess around in

    1. Bro yes a lot of PS5 haters have been telling me it’s gonna be trash. But I know it’s gonna be good, I’m about to pre order!!

    2. The Mojave Wasteland is a place of excitement and danger. You should go there sometime. When you do you should post a review on it

    3. Yeah that’s my main gam efor this year was a little disappointed it got delayed as i twould have made the perfec tbirthda ypresent had i tstayed in it’s May slot. But yeah Forspoken and Hogwarts are m ymasin ones on this list. Another one I’m looking forward to which wasn’ tcovered here is Gotham Knights

  13. I think Zenith VR should have been an honorable mention for it’s massive open world, despite being slightly basic for an MMO. (at the moment) They are working on a third class, so you know you’re getting future content.

  14. THANK YOU for putting timestamps in the description and chapters on the video. You guys are awesome. Love the content lately btw

  15. Open world Sonic sounds intriguing. Not sure how that’ll go over but I’m interested to see what they do.

I hope The Day Before is good

    1. @NCR Veteran Ranger Lol. I’ve played FO:NV. Honestly, outside of the story, the gameplay just doesn’t hold up for what I want. Even with mods, and I’m having issues with crashing as well. Very frustrating when I’m modding FO4 no problem

    2. The Mojave Wasteland is a place of excitement and danger. You should go there sometime. When you do you should post a review on it

    1. @Dragon more of their later games have been poor and certainly a far stretch from great, last ‘great’ game was skyrim and bethesda are still riding that success, they used to make good games, then they got too big and like all the big devs they make heartless/souless games, everyone gets overhyped and then disappointed on release. Bethesda just buy up other successful game companies and then help run their reputation into the ground also. id software are making a small success with doom eternal, but its a super short game with little innovation over doom 2016, i mean all people wanted was doom 2016 with a much bigger map and they couldn’t even provide that, the game is still almost as short as the first.
I mean what other ‘great’ titles have they done lately? deathloop? elder scrolls blades? fallout 76? rage 2 ? wolfenstein? – all fairly poor games, they have a lot of visual effects/polish and an amazing marketing/advertisement campaign, but the games are short, uninspired and just not very good.

    2. @Johnriel Maglasang So? a lot of their games have been great till now I dont see why we shoudnt be hyped and how do you know it will be over monitized? so really clarify pls

    3. my prediction is …. it will be over monetized shiit and you people will get mad but also get excited again when they announce another game…

  16. After such a massive drought for gaming I’d love to see half the titles come out that are supposed to this year. So far end of 2022 seems like an insane release schedule for games. Also if the day before even comes out I’ll be shocked. I’ll be baffled if it actually delivers half of what it claims. I’ll faint if it’s as discribed.

  17. Avatar frontiers of pandora would be great with a more horizon type gameplay it is a beautiful and diverse world that would work very well with that style and I am getting harry potter day one

    1. First person tho. Sucks there’s no 3rd person option with it, could’ve been way more immersive if you could switch between them.

    2. The fact that Massive Entertainment is the developer gives me more hope for the Avatar game. The Division games can be grindy and repetitive, but the attention to environmental detail and world building Massive undertook in those games is exquisite.
