  1. Congrats on the move good sir! Also, thanks for doing the heavy lifting on the recommendations. These breakdowns are super clutch.

  2. “She flashed him on purpose”
15 Years of martial arts never led me to a weird aggressive flashing meet-cute and now I feel cheated of my high school experience

    1. I’ll say this much, getting hit on by a girl who is currently kneeing the crap out of your ribcage, while your both wrapped up in a Muay Thai clench is… pretty great not gonna lie.

    2. I mean, I did do the butterfly kick that wowed the girl in the video, zero panty shots, none, zilch, I had to use the internet to get flashed…like a peasant

  3. As a person who decided to watch The Executioner and Her Way of Life out of habit of being a fan of Mili and hearing that they made the OP, I was glad to see the show was good, actually. I hope that the show keeps up the great worldbuilding it has going for it, as the concept is great even to a guy who watches every single trash isekai that comes out and finished it whether I can even bring myself to enjoy the last few episodes. Though I like the concept specifically because I think I enjoy the thought of someone whose job is exclusively to kill the isekai protagonists is great since if you watch those stupide things long enough you think that perhaps some people should NOT be given god powers.

    1. @LaFrosty Or may be you should pay more attention to the episodes instead of getting angry at your own assumptions.

Like the fact that how all conceptual powers come with corruption that would make anyone “human errors” sooner or later which you seem to have completely ignored.

    2. @LaFrosty pretty sure the point was she waited until he showed sign of not using his powers for the best of things, after all it was as soon as he thought out loud that no one could stop him if we wanted to kill someone she ended him

    3. I was interested until the whole Minority Report premise- murdering kids who were pulled into the world against their will because of something they MIGHT do. Really pissed me off more than anything, and main girl only lives because plot armor. The boy could have used a friend and guidance in an unfamiliar world a lot more than a knife to the head

  4. As a professional dancer myself, people need to know that dance and ballet is a sport. It is incredibly difficult and not at all “girly”
It’s a sport with artistry and storytelling. We push our limits and train our bodies mentally and physically. Men who dance are freaking cool and badass. We need to let go of this stigma for male dancers. Plus we need to get rid of the idea that all female dancers are delicate and fragile – because that is absolutely not the case either. Dancers do not starve themselves, if anything we eat the most. Anyways, love that ballet is getting another anime since the only other one I remember is Princess Tutu (I loved that anime when I first saw it).

    1. Anyway, if I had to choose something to get myself aquatinted with ballet, I would rather listen to 10 hours of Tsiskaridze’s lectures on YouTube

    2. The plot is extremely similar to Ballroom e yakoso, however, the latter does a much better job at making the viewer interested in the subject right off the bat. Also I felt like the character development (especially the 2nd arc) in welcome to the ballroom was on much higher level when compared to dance dance danseur

    3. The problem with dance dance danseuer is that the source material doesn’t go into the ballet part in a slightest. All it does is some minuscule drama about how the sly white haired boy got harassed by his crazy grandma back in Russia, somehow making it to be the “prodigy”. Also the girl he likes gets snitched from him by a rebellious newbie. This is the impression I got from reading 50 chapters and I don’t think I want to wait for another 150 to be translated.

  5. I’m already calling that Spy x Family is going to be the reigning king of reaction shot gifs this year. Anya is a little chaos gremlin and she must be protected at all costs.

  6. Honestly kongming is probably one of the few isekai I’ve been actually enjoying, and if anyone has a problem with me referring it to that keep in mind that the show is about a man from the past who essentially transported to a new world

  7. I know it’s a sequel, but Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 is going to be amazing. It’s a great continuation of the same complex world building of the previous 2 seasons that expands the scope of the world even further than before.

  8. I’ve never heard of Spy x Family, but I now NEED to watch this. Shot it straight to the top of my list.

Also, I put Aharen-san on my queue without knowing what it is, and it’s now a must-watch for me too. It looks simultaneously adorable and hilarious.

  9. “Yuusha, Yamemasu” (Hero, Stop it!) is one that I’m surprised to see went under the radar. It’s an interesting isekai about a Hero who saved the world from the Demon Lords but after defeating the Demon Regime, the inhabitants began to fear his power and also wanted him gone, so he submitted an job application to the Demon Lords he defeated to join them as their minion and to climb their ranks.

It’s one-part comedic business management, and another part mystery.

    1. @Irfan Haziq I’m not sure, but the beginning seems to mean something. I dunno if it’s an isekai or it’s just a person living out a very convincing video game simulation. So it could either be an isekai or a straight fantasy/scifi.

  10. My anime weaknesses are found family, couples unexpectedly put together and organically developing feelings, people growing into parental roles, overcoming past trauma, children trying their best, and dramatic irony.
You could physically stab me and I would experience less feelings than the first episode of Spy X Family made me feel.

  11. My mom’s reaction to these, in order:
“I already – what’s the word the internet uses for wanting people to kiss?” “Shipping.” “I ship it! I hope they get married, have a nice apartment and live happily ever after.”
“This boy is my son.” “Mom, I’m your son.” “I don’t care, I’m adopting him.” Also, later: “Panty flashing a guy isn’t the dumbest thing a girl’s ever done to flirt. I jumped over a bonfire to impress a boy once.”
“Anime managed to make golf interesting! That’s incredible!”
“I’m adopting this girl.” “You can’t adopt every kid in anime.” “Yes I can.”
After Geoff said there was a possibility of the two leads becoming a couple: “Oh, it’s like your Aunt Judy and her wife Rachel! Judy could murder people. And Rachel has that other girl’s haircut.”
“I ship it. We’re going to watch this one together.”
“I’m adopting both of these two, too.” “Mom, these two have parents!” “But they could use one more.”
“She’s too good for both of them.”
“I’m going to watch this whether you watch it with me or not.”
“This girl is-” “Your daughter?” “No. But she can be my grandkid who tells me about rap.”

Also my mom thinks it’s adorable Geoff has plushies and if he ever comes to Montana, she’s giving him my old Hamtaro limited edition plushs whether I like it or not.

  12. I haven’t really been in the sphere of the Anime community the past years but it’s crazy to me how much popularity the romance series have gotten. It’s like night and day when back in the day of early Anime fandom (at least for me) where Shounen was all that reigned supreme and romance series were considered girl Anime – even the ones more catered to boys like harems.

    1. @Diamonch they know we ain’t getting wholesome sweet romances in real life. Just like we aren’t fighting demon lords or taking our volleyball team to nationals. weebs gotta live vicariously.

    2. Most romance shows coming out these years have been shonen stuff tho, shoujos are still being ignored as always if not more that what they used to

    3. Spring seems to be filled with a lot of romance and a lot of Shonen have moved on to doing seasons, rather than constant weekly episodes with lots of fillers. This makes more space for isekai and Slice-of-life to fill since there is an abundance of them.

  13. I genuinely saw someone say they dropped the executioner’s way of life when the fake-out guy died because it ‘stopped being interesting’. Like, that’s when it *started* being interesting.

    1. @Kintama’s 銀魂 Grimgar deserves a 2nd season. Hate the fact it’s all but forgetten within the isekai sphere

    2. @Madeline, Goddess of the Moon Only because it was part of the seasonal recommendations here. I haven’t actually seen it yet.

  14. I can easily see Spy X Family being one of those “anime to recommend to someone that never saw anime”. It will surely be a hit among non anime watchers.

    1. @Goleon That is for the English dub right? I want to watch it lol. Do you also know if there will be an english dub for “the executioner and her way of life”?

  15. Executioner is really interesting so far. So glad I picked up Hidive months ago (possibly off your video, possibly off of finally trying to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes)

  16. Oh man, how did you miss Healer Girl?
Studio 3Hz is back with a creative twist on Magical Girls for delightful, musical, iyashikei

  17. I’m just here to make sure Ya Boy Kongming was represented, I already knew Shikimori and Spy x Family were going to be well-loved 😌😌

    1. Bro, people should watch yaboy Kongming already. I literally waiting every week for this anime. The plot is greater than I expected.

  18. So many good shows this season! For me, my favorite by far is Healer Girl. It’s so cute and chill SoL and I reccommend it

    1. @ShadowClaw It was called Cheat Slayers. It was cancel because the op scumbags look way too much like the other characters and one of authors didn’t take kindly to that.

    2. @Grimoire Weiss Fought? If she gave him the chance to act, he’d delete her. That’s why she had to strike swiftly and decisively, which is awesome. A fight wouldn’t be believable.
