@@janeflip1 I have subscription to Peacocks. It’s about sharing the sports with those tho don’t have it. Ppl are not even asking for the full event, just a full performance of the US team and a full performance of the winning team which is what this channel has been doing with other sports already. Deliberately only sharing the videos of some sports but not the others is sabotaging the growth of those sports.

It is difficult enough just to swim, but then to be coordinated and hold the breath and appear on the surface and under the water on cue is kind of miraculous!! And what a show!!!!! I don’t remember which Summer Olympics it was, but the network covering the games got the men’s water polo team to try some basic moves of artistic swimming (then known as synchronized swimming). The guys were there for an hour. Now, water polo also uses a lot of leg strength. But it is different to do this underwater, maybe upside down, then lifting another person out of the water while dancing. The water polo guys were tired when it was over and praised all synchronized swimmers. They knew it was a physically demanding sport; they just underestimated how tough it was.
This may be an Olympic event, but it’s also art. Beautiful art.
Imagine the physical control you have to have to dive into a pool in slow motion.

Water dancing like this is on a whole other level than water sports or gymnastics even. Trying to pushing someone out of the water high enough for a double or triple twist is insane!! ❤
