  1. you guys have the most up to date budget builds thank you. it helps put many other builds into perspective

  2. I just did this same video on my channel using this Optiplex and a RX550 low profile for $150 total. I also bought a full sized card at first so I had to go grab a low profile. Mine came with 8GB of dual channel RAM though and it was only $70. Sounds like you guys paid a lot more for the Optiplex than I did on eBay.

  3. Kinda funny that this is the build I went through. I got the Dell Optiplex 3070 with i5 9500, 256 GB SSD and 8GB RAM for 100$ and the XFX RX 6400 for 140$. Seems I got a great deal for me in 2023.

  5. Nice build, cpu and gpu temps were high. As an alternative buy a prebiult thats is slightly larger. You’ll also likely have the ability to upgrade the psu to allow better gpu options. I added a cheap 450W power spply and a gtx 1060 3gb which gives better performance than the 6400 (but it was using a 2nd hand GPU rather than a new GPU).

Great vid boys, nice to see it shown how cheap someone can initially get into PC gaming, as well as the honest alternative of a console if purely gaming.

  6. the sapphire one runs cooler, and comes with the sff bracket pre-installed like it should be with the regular one as an extra

      Congratulations 🎊 …

  7. I basically did nearly the same build with the rx6400 in an i5 6500 7040 sff to tuck in behind my TV. I did get it with 16 gigs and a 500 gig hdd. Added a 1tb nvme SSD, wifi card, wireless keyboard and mouse, and one of your windows flash drives.

    1. @Kyubi not bad so far. I haven’t really tested it out too much though. The suggested settings for Fortnite were glitchy for sure though. definitely had to change the settings.

  8. Have almost the same set up but using a Lenovo m710s SFF with same CPU, 32GB of ram, and a Sabrent 512GB NVME. I’m also using the Sapphire version. First thing my 14 year old asked about were RGBs…guess that’s gonna be the next project as I’m going to be working on the outside.

  9. About a month ago I got an Inspiron 3881 which had an i5 10400f, mobo, case, psu and wi-fi/Bluetooth card for 95€. I put 16gb of ram (2666 if I remember correctly) for 30€ , a 512gb adata m.2 SSD for 20€ and a GTX 1660 Super for 195€. All in all it came you a total of just under 300€ and it’s decent when it comes to temperatures. Perhaps in the near future I will replace the fan on the CPU cooler with another which is more silent.
When it comes you gaming it is a small beast as it can play most games with see least 60 FPS and high quality settings.

  10. I have a question for you toasty bros what’s the best upgrade path for my Dell optiplex 7020 I already have 1TB of SSD 16GB of ram and a Intel i5 4590 and I do not have a graphics card yet

  11. Firstly, your videos are great! Secondly, what is the name of the overlay that you are using to see the performance, heat et cetera?

  12. I have that RX 6400 paired with an i5 8400—LOVE it…can’t recommend it enough especially if you need a card powered by the slot only…

  13. Something to keep in mind about the Rx 6400 and 6500xt is that they run on a PCIe 4.0×4 interface and can lose a decent amount of performance when they are in systems that do not have a PCIe gen 4 slot, like this dell OptiPlex. This was a great video, and thank you for putting together a very value-oriented build.

  14. How about showing a head-to-head of the performance of the various $300 PCs from year to year? It’ll be fun to see how $300 of buying power has changed through the years!
