Unfortunately, 2021 was an INCREDIBLY slow year for Christian video games, and 2022 isn't looking like it will be much busier. But let's at least take a look at what's planned for the year so we can know what to expect!
2021 Christian Video Games:
– Dreams and Nightmares:
2022 Planned Games:
– Bible X:
– One of 500:
– Eden Remains: Arrival:
– Space Beastz (no info available; planned April release)
– I Am Jesus Christ (exercise caution and discretion towards this game)
Refreshing to hear someone else express the same frustrations as I have with this genre. I feel ya.
Definitely frustrated, yes, but also hopeful. Hopeful that eventually we’ll learn an approach that works and reach a larger audience
Thanks for the optimism. I so wish I could play some games that actually made me feel closer to God or at least consider him as I’m playing them. I wish I had the ability to create a game! I am also hopeful that a Christian will really break into this market some day. I think there’s incredible potential and the consumer base for a Christian game to take off if it’s done right and it’s fun.
You can learn! If you really want it, pray for it, perhaps it’s your call, ask God if it’s his will or not. You can always learn, it’s never too late! But do pray for it, maybe God wants to use you in another thing
Try the game Adam adventure origin
I heard it’s a very good Christian game
Yes! There is incredible potential for us as game developers. We serve the God who created creativity, so we should be the most creative people in the world! I think you’ll get that game you’re wanting some day 🙂
Man we are in desperate need of awesome christian based games. Super happy to see this, I really wish they’d make a NEW Gutiar Praise.
Thank you for providing automatic subtitles in your video, please if possible activate this subtitle feature in your future videos, because I can follow the message better =). Thank you stay with God!
I’ll definitely have to keep an eye out for that! Good to hear from you again, Levi! Hope all’s been well 🙂
We’re going to try to release this year our LOGOS – Abraham’s game, will be an Action RPG Game (like the Diablo’s style), and is intended to be played on mobiles and directly on web.
We’re also working on our new LOGOS 3.0 version with new voices, native translations and improved playability. We have, fortunately, recieved a lot of feedback to launch our best version ever.
@Monkastery Studios the honor is mine my friend. Thanks to God that our paths crossed! Is really motivating.
And I couldn’t have done it just by myself; Rev. Steve Wilson from Ohio is helping us with the written translation; also very good friends here in Mexico that have made voices for many movies are helping us with so much heart.
I think God is pleased with this work; because there are so many projects that can’t even see the light of being released and He’s letting us publish it and make improvements!!!
I’ll be focused on the playability (the weapons handling), the help provided in real time and crushing some nasty bugs!
You’ve been working nonstop and I’m honored to be friends with such a driven developer!
That’s great! I’ll be glad to make a video about it when you do!!
Wait what? We didn’t go to kickstarter last year and fail. I was busy working freelance and project on the side. It sounded like you think we failed a round of funding which we didn’t. We are waiting for the right time to go for a KS run. Just wanted to clarify that because I was very confused by your statement.
😬WHOOPS
Really sad to see all of this get slowed down. Agreed on the Blockbuster mentality…Maybe I need to get my butt into gear with my project lol.
@Monkastery Studios No money mo problems 😔 Praying someone invests in us lol
@Monkastery Studios then let it be us!
Eventually somebody has to figure out how to make money with faith themed games, or we’ll never be able to reach a wide audience 😂 no money, no audience; no audience, no money, its a tricky place we’re in
Maybe we can make one. Unreal engine 5
Here is something people need to understand about indie development. It is inevitable that indie games are delayed. When you only have 1 – 3 people working on something, it takes a very long time to complete. People don’t realize that a single asset can take up to 10 hours to complete. There are hundreds of assets in games. And that isn’t including music, programming, animation, etc. I just finished a project at the company I work for. Our team consisted of 30+ people and it still took 2 years to complete the project. And compared to what a lot of these indie developers are doing, it is a small project.
So don’t mistake delays or new game announcements for lack of passion. This industry requires time. Time that never seems to be afforded to the developers by the consumers. Not to mention people don’t ever want to support Christian developers. Saying “I’m hoping and praying for you,” doesn’t pay bills. If Christians want to see Christian games getting released, they’re going to need to support them with their wallets. If not, then they will continue to see delays and long developments.
@EagleZtoTheGrave Thanks. Unfortunately I wasn’t in charge of marketing or anything for that one. I was just a lowly artist for it. So very few people know about it.
@Devin Morse Checked out Jump Tanks, love the battle royal aspect, overall has a lot of potential. Thats something that should be a franchise in my eyes.
@EagleZtoTheGrave I’ve worked on a couple indie games, Jump Tanks and Esc-8-bit. But I work full time as a 3D artist for a military simulation and training company.
What game did you work on Devin? Watched a documentary for the guys that made Cuphead, took them a lot of work with a small team before getting picked up by a big name developer. Thats what i hope happens with other christians grinding out there, someone with funds sees the value and willing to invest in these projects for the long haul. Shame there arent companies geared toward Christians with mass appeal like Nintendo looking to publish & swoop in to make deals.
Perfect comment ❤
BibleX also has a discord
I’ve been working on a Christian game. Not the one on my channel, but an actual commercial project. Been working on it about a year now. Been debating if God wants me to finish it or not
@Monkastery Studios Its a first person puzzler based on the vision of a pharisee. Kinda like the game Pnuema. Being built in Unreal Engine 5. Going well but now just kinda praying about direction.
That’s great! I’d love to hear more about it once it reaches a reveal phase!!
