Sonic Colors Ultimate Should be Number 1. Who needs a big vampire lady when you got Wisps. 🦔🔵 (Can’t wait for frontiers, Sonic Movie 2 and Origins)
Wait wheres sonic colours ultimate?
Watchmojo, I like the british narrator on this video. It brings class to your positive Top 10.
You don’t need a vr set to play resident evil village
Congratulations to the actress who won the Video Game Award, she did a great job on her performance as Lady Acina Dimitrescu from ‘Resident Evil Village.’
@Foster Deck But it was Erika Mori for Life is Strange that was the most deserving. That award choice for Maggie was Idiocracy.
She’s not gonna see this dude….
It’s Alcina, not “Acina”.
@Thomas Fredrickson this is stupid. It doesn’t matter if it’s a celebrity or a unknow actor, it’s the game award for best performance, so the BEST PERFORMANCE should win. This year, giancarlo esposito was the best BY FAR, with the actress of julianna (deathloop) on second spot
@Andrew Terrell Yeah… I rather have a unknown actor/actress win over a well-known Celebrity. IMO
It’s so great to see Metroid getting so much recognition
10. It Takes Two
09. New Pokémon Snap
08. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
07. Hitman 3
06. Psychonauts 2
05. Monster Hunter Rise
04. Deathloop
03. Forza Horizon 5
02. Metroid Dread
01. Resident Evil Village
Honorable Mentions:
Knockout City
Returnal
Warioware: Get it Together
Lost Judgment is definitely my favorite game of the year. I know it’s a bit of a niche game compared to AAA games like RE: Village & Metroid Dread. But what makes it my 1# game of the year is that it’s one of the very few games after completing it, that makes me still think about what is proper justice when it comes to failed justice, revenge, and vigilantism.
For my overall favorite games of the year they are as followed…
Lost Judgment, Resident Evil Village, Halo Infinite, Hitman 3, Far Cry 6, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/ Shining Pearl, & Persona 5 Strickers
It Takes Two was an emotional but amazing roller coaster, and it’s message of working things out in times of strife resonated heavily with me
@Quinn Sula bruh … How come re village didn’t win
@Quinn Sula you mean “won”?
Also just won game of the year
Its a fraud…
20 levels (tutorials)
One shitty mirale
Only DA saves this game
In the same style, A Way Out was far better
@Yansko no I disagree the way out well fun had really bad writing until the final bit, also some times it was to edgy but hey knock your self out edge lord
I think we can all say 343’s Halo Infinite has exceeded our expectations for its best gameplay. Truly made an epic comeback of a franchise
@flowefquake no halo game has had an open world or armor/ability upgrades before this, calling it “just a regular halo game” is objectively wrong
Well it deserved to be on this list rather than Forza
Nah it was just a regular halo game
I personally think Metroid Dread is the easy #1 spot. Shin Megami Tensei V also absolutely deserves to be on this list. Surprise no mentioned of Halo Infinite. I know it’s only a day old upon this video, but even so… Despite it being a mostly crappy trilogy, it at least finished with a bang.
@DarkDragonMedeus Fair enough, it probably be better in January but most people don’t like hosting events in then for some reason.
@PhanThief95 Yeah, the Yakuza franchise as a whole is a really great series.
@M B I understand that different platforms use different rules, but December 2021 is still part of 2021 and I usually prefer if game awards happened in the January of next year. Similar to what Game Informer and G4TV did.
Also I like to play games from all platforms, I even acknowledged on the top 10 games of 2020 about most of them being cross platform titles. Including Doom Eternal openly having the Switch version as it’s weakest via having no physical copy and digital version taking up way too much space. But Metroid Dread in many ways was the new game I had the most fun playing as well as resurrecting the classic era with all its exploration and challenging boss fights. I’m more of a retro gaming fan + RPG fan.
Lost Judgment also deserves to be on this list.
It’s a great game, a great sequel to Judgment, & it came out in September.
I’m like Resident Evil 8 Village.🖤😈😌
Halo infinite should’ve been on it for sure it’s definitely brought some good life back to halo franchise!
Halo Infinite is fun but I def wouldn’t put it as a top ten.
@ZJM’s Trash as for standards it may sound a little snobbish in rl about as down as earth as most people I just expact more from a big developers. I play all kinds of indie games and Don t expect much on certain levels but if the nail the fun factor i respect them. One of my favorites is space traders frontier, simple but lots of room to grow and customize got 100s over hours on that game. I would recommend it if you like to customize spaceships
@ZJM’s Trash cyberpunk was a complete mess but what was in the story telling had my attention
@Kevin Bee Also I wasn’t the biggest fan of infinite I saw it as a bit of a weaker entry too the series, but I find it funny how you’re criticizing the campaign for the lack of role playing mechanics. Fine, that makes sense, not your type of game, not even one of my favorite genres. I’d recommend checking out the earlier halo games anyways. Better level design smarter AI and overall more fun because of co-op. But I do agree on it being undercooked. But through the eyes of a halo fan people want the game too improve. It’s just that this campaign was a better improvement coming from H5.
@Kevin Bee I agreed with you until you said “higher standards” and then mentioned cyberpunk. I enjoyed the games story and world building but the game was a fucking mess and everyone knows that.
Dang they could have put Guardians of the Galaxy as a honorable pick its a pretty good game
@Peter Atkinson they were. it kinda reminded of the comics that way. sadly though the movies really didnt that to much
@matt oh and the flashbacks with his mum were another highlight.
@matt That’s amazing. I should go back to it. The highlight for me were the set pieces.
@Peter Atkinson got it day 1. 100% it day one as well
@matt nice! 👍
I won’t lie at the game awards I was hoping for Metroid dread to win the game awards but when “it takes two” won I was actually happy for them because he actually deserved it and at least Metroid dread won the best action game so I’m happy it won at least something and got noticed
I had three games hoping to be GOTY.
Metroid Dread.
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart.
Resident Evil Village.
For me, Guardians of the Galaxy and It Takes Two were the absolute best.
After 25 years of the entire franchise, ‘Resident Evil Village’ is officially one of the best video games of 2021.
Village is probably the most overrated RE game of all time.
@TD- Jayz No, actually your take is wrong. RE2 Remake is the second best Resident Evil after RE4. Then it is RE1make, then RE7, then RE5 co op, THEN Village, then the first boat game on the DS, and then RE3 might come into play. Objectively of course, as this is just the factual order of quality of the games, opinion didn’t even factor. You can verify this truth nugget on Wikipedia or something to see that it is simply the correct view.
Here’s a source if you need it. 🖕
@MrWhygodwhy it’s all personal opinion buddy
@Daniel Yes..comment was mockery. I guess the middle finger didn’t make that clear enough.
@MrWhygodwhy definitely see the last part, I’ll admit my ignorance, carry on good sir
Thank you for putting Metroid Dread at Number 2.
Should be at number 1.
I love Hitman 3 and Far Cry 6. They are my two favorite games to come out this year.
Very disappointed that Psychonauts 2 lost out on so many awards, specifically Best Art Direction to Deathloop. It deserved at least SOMETHING for all the hard work Double Fine did for it.
Came back from the Game Awards. Gonna say that It Takes Two won Game of 2021, congrats Josef! Love his rant on Oscar back in 2017.
It honestly deserve to be way higher on this list
Just downloaded it strictly off the concept!
what rant at 2017 ?
👏👏👏😌👏👏👏 It Takes two.
Honorable Mentions:
*NEO: The World Ends With You
-The long awaited sequel to my favorite game of all time!
*Persona 5 Strikers
-Another romp with the Phantom Thieves, but this time it plays like dynasty warriors.
*Scarlet Nexus
-Astral Chain meets Psychonauts, but less zany/weird and more anime!
No SMT V?
– Lost Judgment
The sequel to the Yakuza spinoff game Judgment gives us another solid story with Yagami & his investigation crew that also refines much of the gameplay aspects of the first game.
Metroid Dread a super 2021 surprise! It’s very difficult to see a 2D game bring so much innovation and great story! Well done guys!
I feel Hot Wheels Unleashed at least deserves an honorable mention
It’s highly addicting with its realistic graphics, fun gameplay, insane customization, and with upcoming seasons it’s a great game on its own
