@Cobra jit trippin
The Grefg should have won.
Sonic getting such a presence here warms my heart. It was also funny seeing Ben and Jim poke fun at the crazies in the fan base.
The voting system for these awards really need to be revisited; otherwise, I always enjoy the game previews and surprises
…also, PLEASE include more guests from the gaming industry – rather than the movie industry. Joseph Fares is the only personality that really bloomed since these awards started
Every award except players choice is chosen by games journalists
The voting system is literally about money or whatever fits their agenda and never really the games that deserved it.
@n0odles86 You mean the player voice award? The award that was voted by players?
@Akash Pawashe infinite did yes, shouldn’t have considering it was 10 maps and 3 game modes for free w no real Halo UI or anything that made halo multiplayer fun
@n0odles86 what.. halo didn’t win any award what you saying
dude never disappoints! ^^ “if you dont have children yet go get them” hilarious
Lol leaving that up to interpretation is pretty great
I got the children and I’m disappointed I only have police following me

Chad.
Thanks dude
@G.C.Z.L. Winner of the best golfing game TLOU2 directed by Neil Fuckmann.
Where’s the Super Mario Movie Trailer!?
This is always a blast!
As an artist who hopes to be in the industry someday, I hope that they add art categories called ‘Best Character Design’ and ‘Best World Design’ so many artists go unnoticed even though their work is crucial to what makes the game what it is.
Hope they keep up the good work!
@RazeAndJadith true but a light mention rather than no mention is always welcome 🤞
I wouldn’t get my hopes up. they lightly go over huge categories like RPG of the year but spend a lot of time on non game related stuff.
I agree completely! Though, I imagine Fromsoft completely taking over those categories during the years they release a title. Not that I mind though. 😛
I’ll say I think this was an amazing awards show. Didn’t expect to like it as much, feels like they can be hit and miss. I honestly don’t remember this year’s E3. Ah, looking it up, I do now. But there was a lot of great games shown, some actual funny humor (like game developers poking fun at themselves) and some good performances.
Dude this was the worst one in over 10 years, what are you on. There are literally ads for movies in a game show now, and people complaining about oppression like bro I’m playing games to get away from the real world lmao.
@Temp 2020 was worse lol
The Bethesda thing got me rolling on the floor lmao
That beautiful opening score with legendary Sting was haunting and epic, a perfect way to start the show.
Sting was out of key and felt like he was performing vocals from a different song to what the band was playing.
Amazing show and thanks so much to Geoff Keighley for making it happen! Congrats to all the nominees but I must say… I’m so happy about the winner for GOTY. I’m currently playing it and yes it’s absolutely beautiful and overflowing with charm. Go play it everyone – if you have Xbox Game Pass (with EA play included) then no excuses!
Say what you want about TGA but, the GOTY orchestra medley will always be hype.
@Manuel Chinchilla There are two sets of drums, gang. At 3:49:38 you can see 1 set either side of the giant drum in the middle.
@IRatchetI yes, and none of them coincide with what was being played, also, one of them had no cymbals and the hits that are missing are from cymbals, so none of them were playing those notes.
@IRatchetI for an specific example look at 3:51:14 the drummer hits the crashes but they don’t sound, also at 3:51:55 there are two crashes which the drummer doesnt play and there’s one that he plays and does not sound
@Manuel Chinchilla First of all at 3:51:14 he’s hitting the hi-hat not a crash. You can tell from the various view points he doesn’t have that on his left.
As for 3:51:55 he was using the hi-hat as a crash. Or at least he made that sound WITH the hi-hat. I will admit I don’t know what he’s hitting after those first two but it clearly wasn’t meant to be a crash.
If you want proof he was actually playing in time with the rest of the orchestra, at 3:48:49 (the very start of the medley) you see him play exactly in time with the rest. Same at 3:49:37. Everything he does is in time with everyone else. I’m not going to time-stamp every other time he does this because that’s far to many.
I don’t know why you’re trying so hard to discredit him, or the rest of the orchestra. They were all there and they were all playing live without any pre-recorded music mixed in.
If you’re going to continue this theory then go ahead because I’m not arguing this again.
Great show, Geoff. Hype announcements, great vibe, great hosts and guests, great winners (it takes two, returnal, guardians, kena). Had a lot of fun. Thank you for your hard work.
I remember back when these awards were on Spike TV
Congrats Geoff, you turned these awards into the Oscars of gaming!!!
I concur. It has taken up the same practices of The Oscars, too.
I love TGA. Such a great celebration of gaming industry.
Im so happy for Josef Fares. He is finally getting the recognition he deserves! Brothers a tale of two sons and a way out ware incredible and very unique games and had great stories specially a way out and now he finally won a goty award with it takes two! I haven’t played myself yet I’m definitely getting it as soon as I can! Congrats to Josef!
@Brian S. okay mr. grammar police
especially*
“specially” means “for a special purpose”. Example: “I made this apple pie, specially for you.”
First game I played on my 32:9 monitor. Split screen is back, baby! ❤️
It Takes Two is a masterpiece
That was pretty damn good, well done Geoff. Love to see everyone celebrate gaming and all the talent and work that goes into making games.
That Sonic 2 trailer was freaking awesome! Seeing Sonic, Tails & Knuckles all on the big screen together is gonna be insane. So hyped!
Absolutely awesome. Gets better and better doesnt it. Already hyped for next year. Congratulations to all the winners and have a good one everybody.
I remember back when these awards were on Spike TV Congrats Geoff, you turned these awards into the Oscars of gaming!!!
Geoff really did a really good job this year!
@Stephen Brown every year they do 10 awards on the big stage. which one is it? make it shorter or more award acceptances?
@Stephen Brown That’s uh… what the show is for… announcing games,
He didn’t. It’s pretty disrespectful that the show was over 3 hours long, yet awards like Best RPG and Music get quickly breezed through in 10 seconds each, while the majority of the show is made up of ads and announcements.
artists go unnoticed even though their work is crucial to what makes the game what it is. Hope they keep up the good work!
