March 8 is International Women's Day, so I thought it would be fitting to take a trip down memory lane, talk about how the portrayal of female characters has evolved, and celebrate some of the many heroines we have the honor of assuming the role as! This video is dedicated to my lovely partner, who happens to be a woman.

Been gaming for 30 years now, really good to see how far the medium has come. Good vid!
Thank you so much! 😀
Really great video with a quality analysis and fair points!
Thank you, brother! 😀
A really good analysis on women in video games! Great work, man! On the note of low views, I think it’s probably just something that not many people would search for. Still though, it’s good that you made this video.
Thank you so much! 🙂
This is a great video! I don’t get why it has so fewer views than your other recent ones.
Thank you, Florin! Either YouTube is not pushing it out to people or they’re just not interested :/
Honourable mention Jade from Beyond good and Evil 😉
Talking about female video game characters and not mentioning Seamus Aran from Metroid? Strange decision, but the video was still good!
Haha never played a single Seamus games, decided to make some room for a few other characters 😉 thank you for watching! 😀
Very good video indeed, i’m just sorry don’t have the view it deserve, i feel lucky to found it
Thank you for saying that, Danilo 🙂
Fantastic video! I’ve definitely seen a huge shift in women representation in the gaming industry as a whole. Still a long way to go it’s definitely going in the right direction.
good video
Ooh, great analysis, it’s nice to see long term analysis on things like this-sometimes it’s hard to see how far we’ve come.
I will say that the few Total War forums I’ve browsed through have been more… Regressive than the average, so seeing this vid definitely makes me feel a lot comfier on the channel.
Thank you, Robyn! 🙂 I definitely wish to be a positive force in the community!
