My backlog can’t take anymore 😂
Seriously, I’m still playing catch up from last year.
lol same. Now I purchase 10+ games only to play 1 or 2 for months
That’s what she said.

Catch up from last year? I watched a “Best Survival Games” video a few weeks ago and decided to look some of them up on Steam only to realize I have had most of them sitting in my Library for several years now.

I’m bummed no one ever mentions outlast trials. I was hype about persona and other games that that game flew under my radar and is prolly my most play solo/ co op game this year.
Rise of the Ronin is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED!!! and Crow Country was just and EXXCELLENT call back to 90’s survival horror games.
RotR feels like one TeamNinja game too much that’s way too similar to their previous titles..
I’m still hoping we get dlc for rise of the ronin
@@Podcirwell since team ninja > fromsoft
@@travishunstable5283 It’s easier and has a more interesting setting.

Rise is the Ronin is just a open world Nioh. And that isn’t a bad thing. Had a great time with it.
Although I will give criticism for choices and relationships that only really matter in the final chapter. Like in the first two chapters you can betray everyone, and all you will get is a “we are disappointed you completely turned your back on us and killed a couple of our men… But how are doing? Want to do a mission for me and then take a romantic stroll?”
Legend of Heroes Trails Through Daybreak, i feel like Trails have been getting traction in the West lately but it still falls through the radar of alot of people. If you never heard or played the Trails series before then Daybreak is a good standalone start and if you liked then you can always go back and play the other older entries, its a continuous story with excellent story, character and gameplay (for most people).
I just finished trails of cold steel 4 last night. Looking forward to playing daybreak.
@@jackhughes9401 might wanna finish Reverie first though. 😂

Trails just doesn’t freaking end. Cold Steel should’ve been a trilogy, imo. But I got like halfway through 4 and never went back, because it just keeps dragging on. CS1 was the best, imo. I liked the mysteries and stuff. Characters were good. I wanted to romance everyone, especially Fie, Sara, and Claire lol. But man… they just keep introducing new questions and usually not answering old ones. I’m pretty sure WHY Rean has his powers STILL wasn’t fully answered by halfway through 4… (though at least some of it was hinted at due to the Emperor’s or whatever, and the blonde hothead whose name I forget. Ash, maybe?)
And Cold Steel wasn’t even stand-alone, so I’m missing the stuff from Trails In The Sky (despite watching some coverage of it, so I know what I need to, mostly), and there’s Daybreak and Zero now… ugh. It’s too much. It’s like trying to be the new Final Fantasy, but I wish it was more like Uncharted where there’s just 4 main games (and a Chloe spin-off), and that’s it. It’s done.
@@Paradox-es3bl Understandable since there is about 12 entries now but the devs has already stated that its 90% complete now with Kai. Yes you are right, Cold Steel was suppose to be a trilogy but because the story was so long they had to make CS4 which can be seen with the Opening animation as its of lower quality than the rest showing that it was rushed. I meant Cold Steel as a good standalone start because if you are hooked on how good it is then you can play the previous entries to understand the references, thats how it started for me atleast. Thing about Trails is that you literally cannot rush through it, i mean yes you can just play on the easiest and just blast through the main story but you will be missing alot of details like Anton who is the only NPC to appear in Sky, Azure and Cold Steel. All i can say is take your time, enjoy the stories and characters and if you get burned out you can always take a break and play something else then go back to it, its alot yes but so worth the time.
It just shows how overlooked Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is when it can’t even make a list like this. You almost never hear anyone talk about it.
I’ve been enjoying it. A bit stuck on the final boss so I’m working on finishing all the objectives
@@DrIgnacious I hope they release a physical edition.
@joesunday199 absolutely. I’d love the Darksiders treatment where we can get a collector’s edition with Soh’s mask
Agreed. This game was actually so much more fun than I thought it was going to be.
@@DoctorCarth Played the demo, it was great!
Crow Country is one of my favorites of the year. Animal Well is also amazing. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes deserves more attention, awesome logic puzzle game with a great mysterious story to uncover.

I platinumed Prince of Persia, it’s definitely one of the best games I’ve played this year. Tight controls, and some great boss fights.
How many hours did it take you to finish it?
@@martinaguiluz4063 25 hours. It’s short and sweet. No clue how quickly it takes to complete without doing 100%. But it’s very easy to do, didn’t use any guides. But some collectables were very easy to miss.

I want to add Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. For fans of oldschool RPGs, it should be a dream 🙂

@@langleymneely I’ll try to get it on sale (can only buy that way to not break the bank) but it does look like something I’d enjoy a lot
@@onidan7 its well worth it. Im not even a horror guy and I love it. Its a strong narrative with great characters. If you have Gamepass it’s on there.
Yet again unicorn overlord gets the shaft.
I feel like this and hundred heroes both are woefully underrepresented. The art style alone is worth the price of admission.

@@langleymneely It’s still worth the ride I think… but yeah, that story, yeesh. Hope you get some fun out of it.
@@CINEMARTYR Thats a damn shame. Thanks for the info!
I picked up Nobody Wants to Die on launch on a whim and got way more than I’d expected. The story feels really well paced and it looks absolutely gorgeous. I’ve not finished it yet as I’m spacing out my sessions so I don’t blow through it too quick, but definitely pick it up if you like narrative experiences.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes! The sequence with the piano song is memorable!
System shock remake is criminally underrated
Alan wake 2 is getting a physical this October so that’s what I’m waiting for. Haven’t got to play it yet because of it being digital only
I almost wish I would have waited for the physical release. I really didn’t think they would do one, so I bit on the digital version. It’s a fantastic game, so I am not too bummed for already having played it, but I’m afraid they’re going to get me twice on that one in October.
I’m hooked on Kunitsu-Gami right now and I havent seen any outlet talking about it. It’s FANTASTIC! reminds me of the ps2/gamecube era when developers werent afraid to try something new and classics were born!
Played Nobody wants to die recently … ENJOYED, has a good replay value too..👍
Great list
Luckily some of these are short enough to watch someone play on YouTube, because my backlog is bursting at the seams already 😅
